Joseph Nguyen is a jazz pianist and composer based in Los Angeles. He was classically trained starting piano around the age of 5 and would often play in local Vietnamese churches. In high school, he was eventually exposed to jazz and learned to play percussion instruments such as drums and marimba.
He has since earned his Bachelors in Music at University of California, Irvine, studying privately with Vardan Ovsepian and Kei Akagi. Joseph composed original music which is influenced by jazz, samba/bossa nova, choro, hip hop, rock, indie, blues, and classical music.
Joseph is now currently attending California State University, Northridge for his Masters in Music studying under John Escreet and Gary Fukushima.
