Elvera Miller

Elvera Miller, from Alexandria, Virginia, teaches voice, guitar, and ukulele. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in personality and social psychology from San Diego State University. She is currently obtaining certification in music therapy from CSUN.

Elvera received her first guitar lesson at the age 10 years old and participated in musical theatre throughout her adolescence. This is where her love for music and performing grew. During her undergraduate program at SDSU, she discovered a passion for helping people achieve their goals through the use of therapeutic music. Music instruction served as a means to not only target music proficiency, but to help students increase their leisure skills, self-esteem, and promote connection with others.

Elvera began teaching guitar, ukulele, and voice in 2016. Her main goal as an instructor is providing her students a space to be creative and use music as an outlet for emotional expression. Having been classically trained in voice, she emphasizes the importance of vocal health so that students learn to sustain their voice over a long period of time. She also teaches breathing techniques to increase breath control as well as reduce anxiety in the event of recitals. She is dedicated to helping her students reach their goals and carries herself with a warm affect so others feel comfortable interacting with her.
