The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny

By Dana Howell

ASC is proud to present The Tales of Peter Rabbit & Benjamin Bunny, an opera written and performed by our very own ASC faculty and students on May 4th! The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny is a short opera in two acts, the first being concerned with Peter’s initial illicit foray into the garden of Mr. McGregor as it is told in Beatrix Potter’s original story in 1903, and the second act following the events weeks later as Peter’s cousin, Benjamin leads them both in a return to the perilous garden to retrieve Peter’s clothes – and have a lot of fun in the meantime, as told in the 1904 sequel, “The Tale of Benjamin Bunny.” Both stories are retold here following the original books closely, allowing, of course, for the rabbits to sing a bit more of what’s on their minds than is explicit in the original illustrated volumes. Our early bird discounted tickets will expire on 4/4. Our early bird discount ends on 4/4, so be sure to get your tickets soon.
